So the consensus on texting seems to be to use it sparingly and primarily to set up the date. I tried doing this a few days ago, but was met with no response after getting a few good responses.

Backstory, I met this girl (E) at my school's club fair last week. I didn't come on very strong as I was initially interested in the club and her friends behind the booth in a more professional sense. Although I did DHV by making pretty good convo with everyone around and eventually got behind the booth WITH them and even helped them give out the food they were serving up. I got her number after she offered it instead of the email I had initially asked her for. The backstory on the text convo is that she just started an online shopping store and is currently having a contest to change the name of her company. She is offering $50 to whomever can come up with the best name.

So that night, I submit a few entries for the contest and text her around 12:30am saying "it was nice meeting you today! I'm pretty sure I just sent you the winning name suggestion. Now if I could get that $50 in cash, that would be just greeaaat)." She replies the next day, "Hi bigDdan! I just saw your submission I liked one of them. I'm going to talk to my partner about that thank you for your submission but no cash!!! :P" I reply a few hours later, "Nicee. I thought u might like that one. No cash, no problem. I'll just trademark the name and u can buy it from me for triple price! 8) (sunglasses smiley emoticon)" She responds immediately "... then ill just pick something else... O_O (wide open eyes blushing cheeks emoticon)" I respond within an hour "Dammit! you've foiled my master plan.. :'( you are a dream crusher, evil E.." She responds the next morning, "Sorry.. :( but u were being a meanie..." I respond later that evening "haha. it's ok. I'll let you make it up to me by taking me out for a coffee ;)" No response from there. It has since been about 36 hours. Sorry if that was long winded, but this is the first time I'm posting on here and I didn't want to miss anything. I feel like I was getting a good vibe from her but she hasn't responded in a day and a half now. I may have been a little quick on the draw, but I didn't want to waste time making unnecessary text conversation. Plus, I felt like the setup was really good for that last line so I had to take it. Any and all advice, critique, and suggestions are welcome.
