Don’t laugh at your own jokes specially when there is no joke or nothing humorous about your text like in this case.

Any time you think using haha would lighten the mood, do the opposite, because if you don’t that “haha” comes across as insincere and needy try hard attempt to seek rapport.

Don’t laugh at the end of your texts, just better to be dry. Yes, i literally just said it’s better to be dry on texts. It’s more masculine and less approval seeking.

Your text opener should be something humorous without the need to tell her that she is supposed to laugh.

“I went there the other day and remember seeing you there once” isn’t humorous, it’s not funny in any way; it’s neutral, and as such it’s a bad text.

Better to say some absurd observation you made about her if you truly saw her. The goal is to provoke emotions like laughter.

So if she was wearing a funny hat, you could say “You are the girl that was wearing a cowboy hat the other day! Gotta say you look great as a man”…

This is provocative, because you are calling her a man or cowboy, even though she is not, this creates an emotion which is non-serious “outrage” more like “fun/playful fake non serious outrage” which is a great way to get her in a positive mood.

If she wasn’t wearing any hat, then you need to make some other type of absurd observation or maybe accuse her of something absurd.
