I've got a date tonight - the first date I'm actually interested in since my fiancee left me five months ago. I met this girl at a party the other night, and I was completely sober, walked straight up to her and began the conversation. We hit it off straight away and we ended up exchanging numbers, kissing and spending all night chatting to each other.

She told me that she has never been asked for her number in person, especially from someone sober, and she really liked how direct and upfront I was.

Anyway, the day later I arrange the date with her (I pick the place and tell her to let me know when she's free this week and I'll see if I'm free). She comes back with four days that she's free this week - think that's a good sign. Yesterday we sorted the time out and then she said to me 'I'm looking forward to it. A lot!'. That was at 12pm yesterday afternoon. I haven't heard from her since, and I haven't text her. I was with my ex for five years, and a lot has changed in that time. My normal route would have been to keep texting her to build rapport etc, but I feel like I built a lot of rapport on the evening of the party, so don't really need to do that yet. Plus, I don't want her thinking that I've got nothing better to do, and wanted to save any proper conversation for our date this evening.

I'm going to leave it until 12pm this afternoon and drop her a message saying 'See you at 8pm tonight' - and just leave it at that. That way she knows the dates still on, but I'm not directly asking her if it's still happening, to avoid seeming needy.

When we met, she did tell me that she was shy when she wasn't drinking, and I think that comes across in her messages because she's a lot more reserved etc, and I'm not sure she would think to text me first, if that make sense.

She kept saying to me the other night 'you might wake up tomorrow morning and decide that you've made a horrible mistake getting with me' - an unusual thing for someone who was drunk to say to someone who was sober - I get the sense she's got quite low self esteem. She was really vibing on me the other night though, touching me, initiating kisses with me (after i did the first one), and coming to join me on the sofa when I'd moved myself away from the main hub of the party.

Also, I don't have any social media and she was so confused by that, but I think it made me seem mysterious. She said before I left that it's annoying I don't have social media because she was gonna go home and stalk me and find out all my 'dirt' haha - I just said to her, 'if you wanna know what dirt I've got, just ask me'.

What do you guys think?
