Texting too much before the first date, too much escalation before meeting.

Got a # at my bar when working. Started texting eachother when things Get really heated. Really sexual . Personally i feel this is beneficial to the first meeting as we should be nice and comfortable at this point, mate is arguing otherwise. Opinions on your thoughts, whether this is a good or bad idea?
