Let me tell you something, that book is old and points out really cheesy old-school game that is mostly wortless. My advice, learn a few basic concepts like body language/eye contact, push-pull, calibration and physical escalation. Then just work with your mindset, mood and your purpose. Also, keep in mind you should always be more invested in yourself rather than others (which by the way doesn't mean you don't care about other people and act like a douchebag). That's it, read "Models" by Mark Manson.
