Just finished reading the book "Mastery", by George Leonard. I thought the book contained a lot of value and wanted to share some insight I got from this book:

The book is about being on the path to mastery and I thought it also resonates with learning ColdApproach/TheGame. To quote him:
-- We fail to realize that mastery is not about perfection. It's about a process, a journey. The master is the one who stays on the path day after day, year after year. The master is the one who is willing to try, and fail, and try again, for as long as he or she lives. --

What struck me was his description of the plateau. "Learning any new skill involves relatively brief spurts of progress, each of which is followed by a slight decline to a plateau." I notice these plateaus in my game since I go out for nightgame on a regular basis. One week I have amazing results, then followed by 2 months of lot's of rejection and only small or even no progress at all.
What I learned from the book is to love the journey and not to give up when I am reaching a plateau.
