All these "guides to being a real man" and "How to fuck AA in the ass!" and other posts are getting really old. It's the same shit every. day. Look at the top posts right now. Unless you're a noob to this subreddit, -which if you are then the sidebar and top posts already cover you- then you've seen the same advice that is being post ad infinitum, that is currently top voted for today, that we saw last week, that we saw 4 months ago, that we keep seeing over and over and over again.

This subreddit is almost not even worth coming to anymore. The same VAGUE advice is told everyday, the only thing that changes is the redditor that's posting or who's blog it is.

Everyone's got an opinion, so here's mine: This subreddit would be better off without all this clutter and bullshit. If this subreddit had only the side bar and the top posts of all time, plus FR's and progress reports, and questions/advice-seeking posts, then that'd be fine. But this subreddit is not that, it's just a constant cycle of the same advice, WITH AL LITTLE BIT of the other stuff.

You know what? I'd be willing to give a concession. I could bear all the repeating posts, IF the advice given was not vague. The problem is that IT'S ALWAYS vague with few exceptions. "Oh, all I have to do is be confident like this post tells me, GOT IT!" - this has never fucking happened.

This is self-help. We are trying to build ourselves from the ground up. It's like a hard DIY project on steroids. Suppose someone comes up to you asking for advice. They say "My house is really fucked up. There are crack in the walls, the ceiling is collapsing, and there is a new leak everyday. That's why I'm here in this subred- ahem asking you for help. How do I fix it?"

Do you think "Fix your house!" would be useful advice? Do you think that would be helpful? If you thought so then you fucking thought wrong.

That's what it's like to see "build your confidence" or even worse "be relaxed". Again, HOW do you relax? HOW do you JUST have fun? If you aren't going to give real advice, please don't post.
