Hey guys, first of all I just want to say thank you. This subreddit is pretty damn awesome. Since a lot of what I read on here has worked for me, I figured I would inform you guys on what I have picked up along the way.
First thing. The other night I was watching Two and A Half Men with Ashton Kutcher. It was season 10 episode 10. Basically Walden gets tired of girls only wanting to date him for his money and decides to change that. He comes up with a plan to "Sam", who is a poor man. He actually resembles Alan quite a bit. Anyways, he meets this girl at like a savers or something and they go out for dinner. Now mind you he dresses like a nard, isn't very flashy and all that jazz. But he's out to dinner with the girl and she asks him about himself, and he basically just creates this whole lie that he was adopted by this group of assassins and how he had killed them. The girl ate it up, like loved it. She also played along with it all. Again, I know it is scripted, but it just reaffirmed the idea that who whole mysterious thing, and not giving a straight answer works amazingly well. It makes them wanting to know more about you, and shows that you play hard to get.
Second thing. For a while I was thinking about going out to dinner with this girl that I had previously hooked up with. the problem I faced was I just don't want to be like any old joe shmoe and be like "wanna go out for dinner?" So I read somewhere, I wasn't sure if it was here or somewhere else, that if you just tell them instead of asking they won't really say no. Illl provide you the dialogue from the conversation. Mind you this was all on facebook chat.
She says that she was bored and explains why. Me: ah, that does suck. but hey at least you have friday night to look forward too. You're going to take me out to dinner Her: Haha o yea? Me: yeah, i like a fancyish dinner, so the olive garden will do Her: Well you'll have to find a different girl to take you. I'm doing a promo Friday night Me: what time? Her: 8-10 Me: awesome 6 sounds perfect Her: Hahahah don't get out of practice till around then Me: well i tend to be a little late from time to time. but take a quick shower and what not then we will go Her: Haha sounds perfect
AFter the conversation was done, I couldn't believe that it actually worked, I was just like wow. As we were at dinner she tells me that she told one of her friends about this and he was like damn, I wish i could do that, it was so smooth, and she was like yeah I know right.
Some other things that I have noticed if you're lacking as far as conversation, read some questions in /r/askreddit. Some of the stuff their isn't to bad. I have actually used the "what would you rather fight, 1 horse sized ducks or 100 duck sized horses" one before as an opener. It's pretty useful.
I just want to say thanks again, reading this ahas helped me quite a bit. I've gotten like 3 or 4 dates because this sub reddit has helped me improve myself, so again thanks.
