So I've been single my entire life, I'm 22, and a virgin. I want to have my first girlfriend because I think it would be a good experience for me. But I am not desperate enough, and it causes me to do nothing about it. I know I would regret being 30 years old and still never having had a girlfriend or sex in my past. Not because it would make me feel like getting there was a result of being undesirable, but because it's something I'd feel I was missing out on, that is an important part of life.

You know those guys who put girls on pedestals, come off as desperate, and get clingy? Well I am the complete opposite of that, to the point of not even caring about any particular girl. I think I'm actually putting myself on a pedestal to the point where I think all girls are beneath me and not worth my effort. If I see a girl, even if she's a stunner, I tend to think "she's hot but she's just another person, so why should I care about her?" I don't derive my self-worth from how others react to me unless I feel that their opinion matters, and that's a rare thing.
