Time between planning and first date; how to keep someone interested when you have to wait some weeks for the first date?

I generally don’t text them between that time period even if it is 2 weeks. I will usually message them the day before to confirm. A lot may flake but I had many that didn’t, even when it’s a week out or so. You can check in between that time but I wouldn’t try to keep a convo going. Else you’ll either run out of things to say during the date, bore them/make them lose interest.

If it’s natural that you two are talking everyday and it’s fluid and you never run out of things to talk about then that would be the exception. This happened with the last girl I dated. We waited a month before our first date due to the holidays and chatted everyday and never ran out of things to talk about and the first date was the best I ever been on. But it felt very natural to do that with her, whereas with others I do what I mentioned above

The reason you are asking this question reflects that you have a bit of insecurities.

Look, I made the experience once. Scheduled a date with a girl, she agreed, then I didn't text her anymore. I waited till the actual date and didn't even bother sending her a text to remind her. We had already scheduled a hour and knew where we were going. Of course, she forgot the date and didn't come.

You'll probably tell me "but you should have reminded her". Indeed, if I wanted to see her, I should have texted her the same day, at least to confirm where we were going.

Now the thing is that I made the effort to put the date on my calendar, I made the effort to remind it and to move my ass till the precise location and I waited her for 1 hour (by doing something else). However, she didn't even bother putting all that effort.

I know that this situation is pretty common and not surprising at all. I should have just reminded her. But this was actually the rescheduling of a date that she couldn't attend for some reason.

The key message here is that you do whatever you want. If you feel like texting her, do it. If you don't want, then don't. There is no universal truth here.
