Probably less than 5 from each, your match already knows in their head whether they would want to date or not. If the answer is no, it wont change after 50 or 500 messages so you may as well just get your answer quickly. Good luck!

I say its hard to get an average. Some girls are already looking for a date and can give you there number in 1-3 messages. Others are just mucking around on tinder and can take 10+ to be convinced. Honestly I usually try to ask pretty early, because if the conversation fades in to small talk it gets boring, and kinda takes away from go to talking topics for the 1st date. If you find and opportunity to ask smoothely, go for it. If you are running out jokes/things to say, then go for it.

There is no rule, because it depends on the discussion. Some girls are very talkative and drive the conversation, others are just the facts, some are there for validation, others for just some action. You have to be flexible and know your way around a chat. Eventually a convo peters out and you need to wrap it up so its best to set up a date before it gets awkward.

From personal experience, I would say it's not about the number of texts but about how comfortable the conversation is. My first texts are funny small talk, then I move to some personal questions like dreams, goals, things I or she likes to get her comfortable and then I ask her out. A lot of girls are scared to go on a date with a complete stranger which is understandable, so make her comfortable. I also often add them on facebook before meeting up, then she can see I'm legit.
