I don't like work relationships.

It adds another layer of worry and complexity to your work that you don't need, and if she has no integrity, she'll make your life hell either before or after the inevitable end.

Which isn't to say I haven't gone there. But my rule of thumb is she has to put herself out there first. And if she really does want something, she will. Lead her on/play along if necessary, but she has to go there first. It also helps if the job isn't that important to you. In a serious job, I'm very leery of mixing business with pleasure.

It's a nasty habit our generation has of trying to find romantic partners at work. To me the risk/benefit just doesn't add up. You have all the risks of social circle game + your career tied up in it + all the MeToo/sexual harassment nonsense mixed up in it.

Don't be needy OP, this is you trying to rationalize away your worry and thirst. Seriously. You don't need an answer, and if you want to get laid, don't dip your pen in the company ink. You're just asking for complications that you're likely not experienced enough to navigate.

If you can't handle not having an answer, what makes you think you can handle getting a bad answer? Imagine if she rejected you, and the rejection was something dumb or irrational? Most guys can shrug that off when it's a random girl and struggle when it's someone they're already invested in.

I have the same problem man, I’d say go for it. But then again I have yet to take my own advice. You’re right though, it would stop the wondering. I guess you have to just decide if you can keep from making things awkward at work if it’s a no from her.

I generally go for a positive outlook in life but really look at all the possible negatives if this were to go south on you whether it be straight up rejection or a relationship that ends. I’d say don’t shit where you eat unless you truly know this feeling is mutual. Some women like giving out signals just to see if you’ll bite. It validates them but they have no intention of being with you in any capacity and might stunt during rejection to validate themselves even more. I saw this happen a few times when i used to work at a very large corporation.

Work relationships are risky. I think we have enough options in the world we live in without having to risk it so close to home. The lizard has too much dirt on you if it goes south. It's best to just let it be and let what's more important in your life take precedence.
