Cutting straight to the point, I feel as though I am too friendly/casual when texting women I am interested in. From what I've heard, acting or being disinterested can help to change the dynamic between two people, but the issue I have is that I genuinely enjoy being friendly in texts (not even with just girls I'm interested in, but also family and actual friends too) to the point where if the girl says something along the lines of "Work was rough today," or "I cant wait for this weekend," I will instinctively ask why or how so, even though this supposedly goes against what you're supposed to do (I think?), when other people might respond with disinterest or indifference. Is this a bad thing I am doing for building new romantic relationships?

I want to get it out there that I will not bend over backwards for anyone, unless I am sure they will do the same for me. My issue isn't being too nice or getting walked all over, don't get it confused, it is actually being to casual and inquisitive I guess. I have no trouble keeping a conversation going at all, I can bullshit and joke with people for literal days if they are willing to talk that long, but I feel like my conversations are always just casual, with the occasional flirty joke or something thrown in, but it never gets anywhere and I don't feel like it is reciprocated. So if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.
