I wanted to share something I’ve been experimenting with that seems to be working really well.

A friend once told me about the idea of “creating space” so that people miss your presence. I decided to combine that with my own version of a dopamine detox. Basically, I structure my social media use:

At first, I tried 3 days on / 4 days off — meaning I’d interact genuinely with girls online for a few days, then take a complete break.

Now my rhythm is 2 weeks on / 1 week off.

What I noticed: when I return after being offline, many girls I’d only chatted with casually before suddenly seem much more interested in talking to me. My guess is that they either feel challenged by the absence, or they assume I’ve got a busy and interesting life outside social media. Either way, the effect is noticeable.

For context: I live in a Muslim country where meeting women face-to-face isn’t always easy. Messaging and calls are the main way to build connections, so structuring my availability online makes a big difference.

Takeaway: Sometimes giving space and not being constantly available can actually raise interest.
