I have known this girl for about a year now, no romantic feelings for her at first but as time went on and we got to know each other more and more I started to get feelings for her. I don't think she has a boyfriend, she never told me so. We see each other maybe 2-3 times per week now since we have different classes. We used to see each other 5 days a week before. She invited me to her birthday, I became friends with her close friends. Now I'm really into her and I asked her the other day to come with me see a cool exhibition in a museum. She said she had to say no because she was busy that day and did not offer an alternative day. Few days later I asked her twice if she wanted to go run with me later in the evening and both times said she would want to but gave an excuse to not go and did not propose another time. So from there I felt like it was a rejection, so now I am a bit sad and I said to myself better avoid hanging out with her a bit to try just stay friends in the long run. I have been in that state of mind for about a week and during she asked me a couple time for lunch and I told her I couldn't because I had something already (i really wanted to but I forced myself not see her for lunch) I still saw her in the class we have in common but kept much more quiet than before towards her. She still sits next to me, kind of flirts, asks me about my day/ week / what I am up to when we see each other in class and tells me what she did etc but I try to have the less conversation as possible si I just ask her how's she is doing today and that's it. I find it super hard because I really would like to go on a date with her but she keeps sending these signals and at the same time always finds an excuse to meet one-one not just with our friends around. I don't know where to go on from here. Should I ask her out again? Wait for her to do something? Or tell her my feelings? Or keep on trying to diminish the amount of time hanging out with her and try to let the feelings die?

TLDR:

Feelings for a friend, asked her out, said no she was busy, but she still looks interested, I stopped giving her much attention, don't know what to do.
