She text me a couple days later (About 5 minutes before I was going to text her)

Minor point: Avoid reading too much into the timing of her texts. It can really fuck up your head to start thinking there is something cosmic going on before you even see her.

I want to try and set up a date but the main problem is that I would have to travel approx. 2 hours by train.

Okay, so make your plans carefully but the time/distance is not a big deal.

I can't just go for a quick drink or a short date, because it wouldn't be worth it....I know this isn't a great situation

Don't over-think this and come up with problems before you even try to set something up.

It's not a problem that you can't plan a quick drink/date. Is that all you really want, anyway? It's often more fun to have a date that has a more open-ended time table anyway. Like on a day that you both have off.

On the other hand, you are probably better off preparing yourself mentally for a short date, but leaving your options open: being prepared for a date that keeps going and going, or prepared to do something fun alone, if need be. So maybe plan something like a lunch or coffee or whatever and then have plans for things you could do after that, if things are going well AND you actually want to continue with the date. And let go of the idea that you need to spend a long time with her just because you spend 2 hour in transit (read: finding another reason to come there that's independent of her, would be golden) or you're going to ruin the atmosphere with raging outcome dependence.

Honestly, it's probably not worth it. Keep in touch in case you are ever naturally in her area, or she is in your, but I wouldn't waste a lot of time trying to figure out the logistics here. There are plenty of girls that don't live two hours away from you living right in your town.

A few things to consider:

Is this girl worth hours of sitting on a train?
If you hit things off, where and how are you going to escalate?
How would you feel if a girl you just met was going out of her way to travel this far to see you? I'd be a little creeped.
