Valid way to build up confidence?

Easy. Ever heard the phrase fake it until you make it? There's another one that reads fake it until you become it. Think of the most confident, charismatic guy you know. And act like him. At first, act like him to the point of sarcasm, where anyone that knows you both, would know that you are imitating him, then, tone it down just slightly. When presented with a situation ask yourself "what would he do in my shoes", and do that. One thing that helped me become more confident was always revisiting the question "what would I do if I were ten times bolder?".. See a hot girl you'd like to talk to, can't decide how to proceed. Pause, and ask, "what would I do if I were ten times bolder?", then you'll think to yourself, I would walk over there and compliment her outfit, or I would walk over there and simply engage in conversation. And do exactly that. The key to success here is not caring what anyone thinks about you. Think of it this way, you approach the girl and one of two things happens, she tells you to fuck off, no loss there. Or she actually engages in a conversation, big win..if she does tell you to kick rocks. Fastest way to not let it effect you is to remind yourself that you two have never spoken she doesn't know shit about you, so her reasoning for telling you off has absolutely nothing to do with you.

Talk to 3 strangers. Approach anxiety should be gone. Then maintain momentum and you're good to go.

Your not confident because your insecure about yourself. Get over your insecurities is the only way in a million years youll ever approach.
