I've read there's validational sex (one night stands, hook up buddies) and transactional sex (her employer, husband, serious boyfriend). What I'm starting to think is that negging works best with transactional sex.

The main thing a woman wants is commitment which is mostly associated with transactional sex. When you are negging her, you're saying she isn't worthy of commitment. If there's no possibility of commitment, you're negging her to say she is dumb or not that hot which isn't a great strategy for managing her buying temperature towards a lay.

The catch 22 is negging could work to open a one night stand set, since it communicates she'll have quick sex with a worthy guy, whereas there's no need to neg as you're about to close a one night stand since she's already sold on you.

Am I thinking about this right? Maybe if you're in transactional situation you're always negging to instill some "dread" but you only need to neg once, at the open if at all, when you're in a validational sex encounter.
