I think andyfrank and tris4992 have missed the point that whatsapp is a mobile phone instant messenger type thing and OP isn't actually saying "wazzzzuuuuup bitches". Since I've never used whatsapp I can't really comment on that because I don't know it's format. But I prefer to text as opposed to facebook messaging because on facebook it feels a lot more casual, and I want my intentions to be as clear as can be.

I don't agree with all of what tris4992 has suggested either. I agree that you should have a plan and that you should certainly be assertive as opposed to shy or uncertain.

But I don't think there's any need to send an initial message which is so forward. What I'll usually try and go for is an opener text and then a couple of follow ups, e.g., if I meet her at a club I'll text her the following afternoon asking if she's ill today and then I'll move onto asking if she had a good time or liked the club. Then after 3 or 4 messages each I'll just ask her if she wants to hang out again.

I try not to get too down on myself if a girl flakes after a couple of messages, some are going to flake no matter what I do. Since they have boyfriends or whatever woman reasons they can find.

I can't really see any problems with what you're doing OP, it's not dissimilar to what I attempt. One thing though, humour can be pretty difficult to pick up on over a text message. It's a simple plain text message and there's no way for her to tell what tone you've said it in. So it might be worth keeping the messages as pleasant, straightforward and unambiguous as possible.

Anyway...let the downvotes commence.

Don't play around, have a plan. Instead of "whatsup", try "hey, I'm going to see that new movie saturday. Feel like joining ?"

I find this greatly reduces flaking. You're not asking her to go with you. You've already decided to go and are offering her a spot.

Also perhaps wait just a bit longer. I usually wait 24 hours at the bare minimum.

Do you make plans before you walk away? Because you have to! If you walk up to them like your main goal is to just meet them and get their number or such, then they will most likely not be looking forward to meeting you again after you go on separate ways. Try to change something in either the way you approach, or what you do before you walk away.

Maybe the interactions weren't that solid. Numbers don't really mean anything, girls give them out like they're nothing. Have you tried pulling her home with you? Honestly, if they were solid you wouldn't have this problem as your txt strat is on the money.
