So i cold approached a girl outside, and we engaged in some friendly banter after showing her interest. She took it pretty well, laughed a couple of times, and i could tell she was pretty attracted and all. Got her number after about a minute, and then we exchanged a couple of texts about when we were going to next meet up and all, with her, showing a bit of investment on her part, imo.
But within that exchange, i mentioned the word "goals", and she picked up on it and asked me about what my goals were. It seemed like she was trying to get a more general idea about myself before she wanted to meetup and all the next day, so i told her about what i do for work/hobbies.
Now generally, i try to avoid such topics in conversation, because they're usually too serious, and imo, they kill anything that's there. And also, i don't really work. I play poker and i've tried to get good enough so that i could move closer to any sort of pickup locations so that i can actually get into this more seriously. It appears that it's a lifestyle issue IMO and that i should basically find a real job at this point, because i'm starting to get sick of just sitting down and trying to fight for scraps. BUT, in this particular case, i'd think it would be enough for me to say that i have so and so occupation, and own that, even if she does not think so highly of it, or if i don't make that much at it, since she wouldn't know anyway.
My perception > her perception, and i think it's super cool. Friends tell me to lie and say i have one of those 6 figure salary jobs. I am a noob and i don't want to go down that road... yet. Or she decided to politely decline because of, perhaps, other reasons.
Thoughts ? (Thanks)
EDIT: Sorry, this belongs in askSeddit. Just read the rules!!
