I’m in college and there’s this girl (let’s call her Jenna) that I’ve known for a few months now. We’ve always vibed super well and all of our conversations have been incredibly fun. Now, I usually try and figure out where I stand with a girl within weeks of meeting her, but the two of us shared a class and saw each other three times a week. I try and avoid anything with classmates, so I never tried to get a clear answer on the topic. We don’t have any classes together this semester, but we still always see each other in social settings too. In these environments, our interactions are still super natural and enjoyable, so I’d definitely be down for more. On her end, I’ve caught her staring at me, but I don’t know if I can draw any conclusions from that.
We’re having lunch soon and I wanted to use that opportunity to pin this down. I was going to use a generic, “Hey, I think you’re a really great person, can I take you out sometime?” The problem is given the context (us already being at lunch), this probably sounds a little weird. Can you guys give me any advice on how to approach this topic with Jenna? I’d prefer to be direct, but I’m not convinced subtlety isn’t the best way to gauge her interest.
However, as I’ve said before, we’ve known each other for months now, so I’m like 80% sure she just sees me as a friend and isn’t attracted to me. But even if that’s the case, I want to at least hear it in person so I can move on without regrets.
