As a lady, if a guy tries to qualify me with a dumb question I am immediately out. It’s my biggest pet peeve. If done well, proceed, but it’s a hard skill to master. Most qualifying questions I get are trivia because they want to see if I’m smart. The thing about that is one random question tells you nothing. It’s complete chance whether I’ve run into that random fact. I’ve never failed a qualifying question, but I immediately fail the guy when he asks it. Example question: Do you know the origin of the word posh? Yeah, I do buddy, and I’m gonna answer your question that doesn’t actually tell you whether I’m smart, and then never talk to you again.
