I have the impression that you act needy. And would suggest not to ask that question as it would show more neediness because you are expecting results from her.

If she doesnt show a lot of interest but is ok with more dates it could be that she is still on the fence of liking you or not.

So instead of exposing your neediness, deeply think about the intentions you have with her. And show her your intentions. This will polarize her toward one side of the fence.

What bugs me is that I'm the one asking the questions and always initiating texts.

She was the same even before our first date (we texted for about a month then she asked me for a movie date).

Way too butthurt. Don't do that.

How can I reframe this question?

You could make it a fun remark, teasing her, like: "well, i know the last date was too much for you, i mean, being so close to such a sexy guy like me... you must have had a hard time keeping your hands off me, so i understand that you are too scared to lose control on a third date :)".

Ideally this would make her laugh and suddenly make time for you... but this would be in an ideal world. In this world, the risk of coming off passive aggressive is very high. You also can't really convey the right emotions over text for this to work.

PS. At first she refused to go out with me citing problems with her ex. Then out of the blue, she asks me out.

You know how this looks? You were pushing her and she felt scared of commitment, maybe she secretly tried to get back with her ex, and when this didn't work, she grabbed the last straw she had, and this was you. Then you had your date, she felt that it was not a good idea, and now she has the problem that you don't get the hint. She thinks if she plays the "disinterest game" long enough you will stop texting her, stop asking her out etc.

What do you want from such a girl? why are you still chasing her? I know why that is, you want what you can't have because in your mind you have a idolized version of her standing on golden pedestal, handcrafted for her by the best craftsmen you could find.

I tell you what i think the best course of action would be: Forget her, she is not what you look for if you feel like wasting your time on her. If she comes back at you, and shows more interest, maybe give her a chance, but see that she doesn't make you feel good and next her.
