So I started approaching girls with a lot more frequency at my college a couple of weeks ago and I get a lot of nos and "I have a boyfriend' type responses but actually a surprising number of girls say yes to 'getting coffee' (hey its all i can afford while schools going on) and then when I text them to follow up about it, most do not text back, but a few will text back and even seem pretty interested in me but for example this one girl texted ME first (after i texted her my name) and we texted back and forth just a little bit and then when she was supposed to meet me for coffee she wasnt there! I tried calling her and texted her asking if she had trouble finding the place. She responded that "she actually cant come because something personal came up and she had to go home" and when I asked her if she wanted to reschedule she went blank. Like idk if something devastating happened so i just texted her asking if shes ok but really she doesnt seem to be behaving like a normal human being IMO.

My approaches usually are direct, quick and to the point. I actually hate small talk so I try to start with a preframe+compliment, asking if shes single, asking some other questions about her, maybe sharing a thing or 2 about myself, and asking her out for coffee. I dont tell jokes or do anything special to make her feel attracted to me, and I am beginning to learn that sticking around too long when its jjst the two of us seems to create awkwardness. One approach i did on friday seems like I did a little self amusement but she is very busy and says that since I have class on friday when shes free i should hit her up next week. I think she will flake too.

Any advice?
