Children - on weekends, if you are lucky.
Companionship and a friend in old age - When she is not out shopping, partying on "her" night, fucking a thug. You will be lonely and poor in your old age after she divorce rapes you, or you will wish for a quick death after she turns into a life sucking harpy.
Object to be beloved and played with - You will love her in ways she can never love you. She won't play with you the same way she did with the bad boys she had no holes barred orgies with or did sex videos with, because "she is not that girl anymore".
Charms of music and female chit-chat - Most women can't play an instrument and you'll want to blow your brains out after five minutes of incessant celebrity gossip and other inanities.
These things are good for one's health -- but terrible loss of time - Married men are fatter and have zero time for themselves.
Better than a dog, anyhow - My dog and I beg to respectfully disagree with Mr. Darwin.

Also, if I could tell Darwin anything, I'd tell him that I dreamed of science and discovery as a young boy, reading his account of the Voyage of the Beagle.
