While everything that you have said is true, I have never lived in a time when more and more people are waking up to all the bullshit. The MSM is losing its sway on young people. Conspiracies are being discussed opening, and not just online. Critical thought is making a comeback, but not for everyone.

We have a new divide. Many are wrapped up in the superficial world and consumerism; they take ever thing at face value. Then there are others who question everything and do their own research. Theyre bucking the societal norm, going their own way, and that gives me a lot of hope. You are young. You have no idea how fucked up things have been in the past. In a lot of ways, things are getting worse. But a side effect of that is more people are questioning everything. The fact that Trump won the election last year shows the power that young people have and it shows how pissed off people are. They are beginning to push back. Hang in there man. Lets see how this all plays out.

Great post man. English is not my first language and I'm a bit jealous of your writing skills and your vocabulary. I've took english classes in both high school and university but they didn't teach me that much. I know the way to improve my skills is to keep reading and lots of practice but I feel I'll never reach that advanced level and confidence that I crave.

When I write something I feel like I'm just jumping in water and start splashing around instead of actually swimming, controlling my movements, breath, etc. What I need is better control, to actually plan ahead what I want to express trough writing. But I don't want to be a perfectionist either, I know I can spend an entire month writing a page and still not be happy with it.

So what I really want to say is that your skills are great man. You have a big advantage over the rest of the planet that doesn't have english as their first language.

Focus on what's important to you. Ignore the commercials that encourage you to spend your money on frivolous product that you don't need. Try not to be influenced by social pressures. Be your own man.

I'm personally found that deleting my Facebook account and cancelling cable tv have helped me significantly cut down on what I call the background noise of life in our society.

It's the best time to be alive before the total collapse of capitalism on a grand scale. When this happens once greedy corporations have wrecked the ecology to a point where it's no more feasible to do so, only then will disaster truly strike.

So until then or until I die I live in a bubble. I can live completely disconnected from the reality you paint with the right mentality and outlook.

I can chose to adapt, and fast, adapt before others and just live in the moment. Not even completely ruling out actually meeting someone someday but until that day MGTOW.

Knowing what i know, thanks to the combined knowledge of MGTOW I can avoid a ton of red flags.

Luxury is in reach of the average working professional too, provided you don't have some leech to fuck that up for you.

Transportation and logistics has improved to the point where it's super convenient. You can get on a flight and go where you want.

Hobbies and interests too with the help of the net are more accessible.

High speed internet - sure fucking beats a 56k modem.

Computing in general is a whole lot more fucking stable, when last did you have a BSOD?

I could go on all night. The point is you have to learn to adjust - This means owning your bubble. Making it yours, enjoying the time you have, because that time passes fast.

Don't get too caught up in "The world", not only because it's bad for your mental health, but ultimately it's a complete and utter waste of fucking time, and it's boring.

Lastly I would like to comment on your statement about entertainment. Seems like a lot of stuff has gone down the road of "shock factor" or "Let's try do something new". I would argue what we need most of all is a back to fucking basics movement. Bring back morality and goodness into entertainment and character connection vs cheesy special effects and cheaply made movies that are only trying to check off boxes to make sales. Make the characters believable again.

But the absolute last thing I would say is American culture must be fucking hard for a MGTOW to endure. It just seems so completely plastic. Maybe that's just the impression I have but I sure as hell wouldn't want to be living in the America you see produced by Holliwood.

When I was growing up I thought every bodies life was like the Brady Bunch accept for mine. I was cursed for something I did in another life. I got the girl but I couldn't keep her. No life is not fair and yes it's gynocentric and people can be shitty but fuck all of that and just live your life how you want to. Have an attitude that makes your life worth living and enjoyable. You don't need anything but what sustains life. That's it. There's nobody that you need to approve of you. Just take responsibility. Nothing else really matters.

I hear ya. I think of it as the breakdown of the community. Friendships don't last, relationships don't last, family bonds aren't powerful. It's hard to find meaning, because as you said, materialism is ultimately unfulfilling. We have so few meaningful connections to others now.

The only one is those kind of sayings I hold faith in and one which my father repeated to me many times growing up is, "do what you love and find a way to get paid for it." I've followed his advice and having fallen into my field by sheer chance, I'm well into making a career out of it and couldn't be happier with the decision.

I think, though, that by and large it's a natural aspect of humanity to be disappointed by the reality of things. So often we have an image in our minds about how the world is our how our lives are going to go and rarely does that image line up with the reality of circumstances. To my mind, the best you can do is take each thing as it arrives. There is something to be said for following the course of the current. Hell, mgtow is all about recognizing the difference between our expectations and reality and choosing to roll with the punches that life throws out at us. It's easy to fall into an apathetic viewpoint. It happens to everybody, myself included. Just remember that it only takes the application of willpower to change things. Many times throughout history, the world itself has been shaken by the will of one man.

If you take God(religion) and love(relationship) out of the current world, what is left is a huge pile of bull-refuse.

Past relationships proved the latter to be a myth, not very keen to discover God at this age either. We have sustained all these centuries based on these convenient lies, but the tolerance levels going down and narcissistic level of customized individual lives leaves us fearing for a collapse of what we have build from time immemorial.

"Follow your dream and success will follow through." I think this is true depend on how you define success.

The traditional term of success is making a lot of money, have big house, nice cars, beautiful wife and children, picked white fences and such. All of them are pretty much media brainwashed ideas and cultural definition. In reality, this is not true.

In term of mgtow, success defines as do your own shit as long as your satisfy and happy with yourself and f the society on how they define success. Pretty much you define your own success without any influences from external forces.

I think I'm success. Not because I make a lot of money, or have nice car, which both are not true, but it's because I own myself and my freedom. And that is the definition of success for me. You might define it something different.

Powerful bro. Actually the state of things right now is a lot of old farts in Washington that should be in a nursing home. Hopefully, your generation will learn from this and actually fix things that matter. No country is perfect, but looking at Norway leasing prisons because their crime is so low should be a lesson to a country that incarcerates for profit. Yet, we don't bother to even acknowledge this. We got a good business going.

I strongly believe that as mgtow, you start to wake up. Thus, we are more aware and better understand the world around us. We face reality and are better equipped to fix actual problems in the real world.

Whatever you believe, you should reexamine your beliefs to make sure it is not based on assumptions. You want your beliefs based on facts.

For example, like an old city; all the buildings have been arranged with no organization or purpose. As soon as there is a need for a building, one is propped up. A bar next to a school etc. As you grow older you inherit this old city.

It is your job to make anew or fix your city. You would organize it. Residential homes in one area. Schools next to it. Bars far away from schools etc. You are using actual reasons to place such and such building here and there to help the city be more efficient and happy.

Most people inherit the old inefficient city and roll with it. At least in the US, I can't speak about other countries.

I agree with this whole post, but the one thing that sticks out to me is OP talking about people being brought up with those delusions. And I really wish nobody had told me to follow my dreams or anything like that, because those dreams have a tendency to fall from the sky and knock you the fuck out with requirements that takes way too much for too little payoff.

I remember being a kid and really wanting to go into Paleontology. But at 13 I discovered that it requires a lot of math work, and guess what I suck most in life at? So I went "dreamless" for a while until I got into computers. And then a bunch of people told me to not go into computer work, after I had another "dream" that I wanted to be in which was IT work/Being a Network Administrator/Setting up networks for companies, etc. So now I don't know where to go in life even. Everyone keeps shooting my "dreams" down and at this point it's not even worth it to have a dream, just to work a shitty wage job and keep my head above all the bills and crap. Because that's all I'll ever be able to do, it's what 90% of the world will ever be able to do IMO.

I disagree that theres a lack of substance in the world. If you cant find that substance - which is different for everyone - it's your fault. There are millions of people living meaningful lives - you rarely hear about them because they dont waste time on social media. For whatever reason, you havent exposed yourself to such people.

Let me give you an example. A girl I know from my uni is becoming a Rhodes Scholar and is will write her PhD on volunteer/sex tourism. She is going to make a positive impact in the world. But guess what? She doesnt have facebook or instagram. She has a linkedin, but thats all there is.

I'm an athiest, but I can easily see that people who grow up WITH strong religion have more children than the 'church is brainwashing' atheists like myself.

A society has to compete against others or its gets abosorbed - similar to any multi celled organism in evolution.

I used to think I was smarter than religious people. But 10 years ago I realize there was a whole other level up the pyramid of people who may (or may not) believe in religion but they benefit from it via social realationships from thier religion which has been proven (by the freakonomics guys) to help finacially and also when seeking mates. Religion is a great way to network. Also it keeps the whores in check if you live in an area where everyone is the same religion and its rules are enforced.

I think lots of ex christians have nothing to do with religion once they decide they are athiest BUT I know tons of jews who still participate 'for the culture' as they tell me. I even knew one jew who had an athiest rabbi. So before you shit on religion as a lie (which is true) you should realize people who pracitice it benefit in a non small way - espeically the low IQ persons who may otherwise not be able to control themselves from crimes like rape, murder,theft.

The most succesful humans are likely sociopaths who pretend to believe in religion and may even be a leader in it - just for the social and financial benefits. Clearly this is better than just blowing it off and being alone and having no kids (from an evolutionary perspective the 'best' systems are those that produce the highest number of offspring as they will take over in a war or with votes or just outbreed and intermix the slow breeders til they are gone like native americans).

a couple of things, speaking as an elder looking back at the "millennials" out there and some of the things in your post.

1) your generation was raised without a propper appreciation for hard work. Its not your fault its probably your parents fault. I was raised the same way and I'm from GenX so I see the signs in what you posted. I had to lose a job and work basically min wage manual labor jobs while I was changing careers to learn what hard work was. I was 27 at the time. Once I learned what hard work was I learned how soft my generation was.
-the platitudes about "following your dreams" to "get what you want" and you can be anything, were true mostly in the 80's through 90s where you had to make a plan to fail if you went to college. You could pretty much fall backwards into success. This changed in the 00-10s and now you have to work for it. Its not enough to dream and wish, now it requires hard work and effort. long hours and short nights, shorter weekends. maybe building up debt along the way. -you can still do what you want but it won't be handed to you.

2) Finding Love - is a nice fairy tale but in my experience it's an overrated event. a chemical delusion, which causes the victims to make terrible life choices (marriage). When men wake out of it they typically just plow forward and accept the consequences o their mental malfunction, when the young woman wakes up she typically leaves and takes half of everything the man earned and built, then a monthly paycheck too. Feel free to fall in love, just don't get married or have kids. you'll pay for that for the rest of your life.

This is very true, but our generation will re-define how we live our lives. A lot of people are slowly waking up and coming to terms that our lives will not be like our parents'. We are growing wiser and more pragmatic. We will make the world a better place.

Making predictions -- especially about the future ;-) -- is a very DIFFICULT thing to do. The world is a very dynamic and chaotic place. About the best we can do is look at the past, and see how things fared during the lifetimes of other people.

Let's say you were about the same age (21 ish), but instead of the current year being 2017... it was 1929.

What would your future be like? Well, SHIT... the next decade is known as the Great Depression for a reason -- economically (*) a lot of things really SUCKED, just getting by, just having a place to live, food to EAT was a major struggle for a LOT of people -- then even worse, following that... was WWII, the most brutal war ever (and not exactly a picnic for people -- even people "safe" in the US, who were too young/old and so NOT in the armed forces either)... (**)

But... just a few years later, that war was over the rebuilding began, and 1949 turned to the 1950's, 60's and onward.

If you were 21 in 1929, then the next 21 years -- and I know that SOUNDS like an insanely long time to a 21 year old, but it really isn't (you'll be 30+ then 40+ sooner than you can imagine) -- well by the time 1950 came around you'd be 42, older yet yes, but STILL essentially in the prime of your life... and the NEXT 21 years would be times of amazing changes as well (and despite how your history classes/textbooks MAY have characterized them, a couple of decades of THE MOST POSITIVE changes any generation has experienced.

So, what will the world look like 21 years from now? I can guarantee you ONE THING: the world will look and BE substantially different than it is right now (and NO, probably not in some "zombie apocalypse" way). Exactly what changes are going to happen... no one really knows; and whatever ELSE they try to predict. Well based on how "successful" past predictions have been (NOT!) I wouldn't waste too much time with anyone's bullshit ideas of "what will be."

* Keep in mind while the depression is painted as thoroughly "gloomy" -- that is not how a lot of people who lived through it (even, perhaps especially kids growing UP during it) actually remember it -- both of my parents were kids during the depression (that is virtually ALL of their childhood years were during the GREAT DEPRESSION and while they remember that things like money were "tight" and that the adults always seemed to be troubled about one thing or another... well overall THEY THOUGHT LIFE WAS GRAND! They still had friends, they still had adventures & played games with each other, etc.

The point of that: Life is often what YOU choose to make of it, how you CHOOSE to view it. A family being homeless and on the move CAN be a horrendous thing... but from a kids perspective, it can also be viewed as a sort of "adventure" unlike any other... there's always something NEW to see, new places, new people; it's sort of like a big, long "camping" trip.

** And yes I purposefully chose 1929 as an example -- it is probably the BLEAKEST year, the BLEAKEST ILONG* PERIOD of time within the past century or more -- that I could have possibly chosen as the "STARTING POINT" for someone your age. And doubtless the ensuing 20+ years were no "picnic" for people aged 21 around 1929...

But if you look at the SUM total of life -- for those who endured it -- and what they also experienced for POSITIVES both during those years AND after... well, overall that would have been an AMAZING life, would it not? You'd have gone from barely (rarely) ever seeing some rickety biplane... to jet airliners; from wondering whether everyone would starve to an era of plenty when you'd be watching men go into space, then land on the frigging moon(!), and watching it on a COLOR television from the comfort of your living room! You'd have gone from walking everywhere you went (possibly w/o shoes because if you HAD shoes you'd do your best to SAVE them, make them last for fear when you needed them they might be worn out), to riding around in some VERY comfortable car you owned, possibly more than one (unbelievable wealth compared to what you thought was in store when you were 21).

If you ask me, one of the biggest root causes of this sort nilihism is the fact that people are not taught how to be CONTENT with themselves. Now self-improvement is fine for yourself, but when its for validation from others that when it becomes problematic. And its especially problematic in a world where money makes the world go round.

Once one knows the truth, can't go back. But its much better that way.
