To be fair, I had set the bar pretty low for obvious reasons.

What I expected: self righteous lectures from Amazons about how men suck. 1900s women telling wonder woman how oppressed they were for not getting to die in WW1 like the men. Constant male bashing and emasculation, over the top stupid sexist men who get thwarted by wonder woman with sass and ball kicking

What I actually got (((SPOILERS)))

A simplified version of DC Greek myths about where Amazons come from. Aries is the source of evil, not #yesallmen. Amazons are weary of humans in general because Aries corrupts them. Trevor and other soldiers are decent male characters, not portrayed as goofy sexist oafs. Wonder woman is actually fun and lovable as a character, since she's not used to the world and finds it exciting. Gender roles intrigue and confuse her, but don't outrage her. She is easy to root for. No feminist preaching. Some playful jabs at men at certain points, but no generalhatred of males like I was expecting. Only some shouting about honor and courage since she is raised for war. Trevor actually gets to smash.

Overall not bad in my opinion. I'm sick of girl power but I still love superhero stuff
