Don't get me wrong. There are people (even men) who need the occasional shot in the arm of confidence. Damn near all of you reading have been at a spot (or three) where a word of encouragement was all that stood between progress and life's proverbial shitter. Between youthful stupidity, always choosing too-tough opponents, and a WWE cage match-style divorce, I know that I surely have.
Though these things are common to both genders, men have a unique path:
We KNOW that we're not constantly lied to for our vaginas.
We don't doubt how hard or easy life is. There is no hamster-powered surface-to-logic missile that shoots down the question "Why is everyone so nice to me and doing all these things for me?".
We knew that female teachers shat upon us WELL before there were studies to prove it.
If we mouth off to another man, we know that the consequences are rolling d20 and making a saving throw vs. a country ass-whuppin. Our actions have consequences. Those consequences range from terribly unpleasant to fatal. Even our 9-5 gigs often have such consequences.
Unless you are Sir Chad Chaderson the VICMLXIX of the House of Chad, you can't post a list of demands on Tinder and have hundreds of women fall at your feet to sign slavery contracts that pay you annuities when you become bored.
Talking about empowerment, constantly having to say "I am strong!", or crying over hostile environments? This is the domain of women. A man needs none of this, for the world answers EVERY one of those questions through a stiff punch in the goddamned moooth. Every day without fail.
Because of this, you earn your banners. Your world is real. You don't exist in some fantasy land where everything you do is celebrated because of an arguably-fragrant hole.
Your self esteem is real. Taken for granted, even. If anything, living alongside creatures in a dream world makes the self-esteem of today's man artificially low. But we will never share the hubris and fantasy of the modern woman. Because of this, we will always be stronger and better. But only if we realize it.
Never forget this. Get out of your own way and go your own way.

Actually, even if you do something for someone else, you are only doing it because that person has a relationship to your self. So everyone is by default selfish, even if they "love" their family, society, etc

Yup. I would have done anything for my ex. Ever since I broke up with her I’ve been able to save sooo much money it’s fuckin crazy. Saving money was a constant issue I kept bringing up to her but she just didn’t really care. So I kicked her to the curve and completely focused on myself👌🏽

Take this to heart. When you really start focusing on yourself, many may call you selfish or self centered. Most likely though, you're not a psychopath who's psychotically focused on your own goals. More likely is that you were a tool for others to use, and they don't like it when their tools want to do their own things.
Go for it, you may just begin to like life a lot more.
