A thought:

Fast forward thirty years. Let's say that smart AI companions exist, that they prioritize their owners' happiness, and that they have a comprehensive knowledge of human nature.

If the state of gender relations is the same as it is today (or worse), then in my opinion, a single man's companion AI would actively seek to discourage its owner from seeking relationships with women. It would know that it could provide more happiness while exposing its owner to far less risk.

Moreover, a learning AI would probably come to this conclusion on its own. This would never be a programmed behavior, because there's no way in hell any regulatory agency would allow AIs to be programmed that way. They'd still come to the conclusion on their own, though.
