Several years ago I got diagnosed with cancer. Here’s a few things I’ve learnt from it.

Take up a sport. I was mentally and physically stronger than my cancer brethren just from competing in athletics at a good level.

Tune out the bullshit. People I didn’t know added me on Facebook because I was suddenly ‘interesting’.

Learn to say no. Don’t make up an excuse if you don’t want to do something.

Don’t live everyday like your last. You’ll just be fat and broke after a month.

Be a good liar. Sometimes it’s easier to lie than reveal your plans or ambitions.

Find your real friends. The ones that just enjoy your time not your money.

Smile. It confuses people.

Mental health is no joke. If you need help, get it.

Don’t try to convince someone with nothing to lose. You will never succeed.
