My dad does this every once in a while too. I don't mind talking to my mother but she calls me like twice a week with empty nest syndrome. Those calls aren't nearly as fun as the ones with my dad.

My dad used to call me for something he should easily be able to fix. He had a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. I always knew he just wanted to talk. I miss those talks. He passed in 2010.

My dad texts me about everyday just to tell me to have a good day, when I was younger I was pretty stupid and thought it was just annoying because I knew from the start it was going to be a bad day. Now I see that he knew that too and wanted it to be different. Feels bad man, appreciate your Dads guys.
