Whole world economy is very close to popping and the stock market will be one of the first things to go.

If you want to see more gains than losses in the coming years start buying up SLV, IAU or real gold/silver.

I made $2k last month also just longing silver with call options.

Don't forget you can long/short without leverage but with high reward if you know how options work. Worth a look into.

Best to buy into stocks at the bottom (A recession) then at the top (now)

There should be three stages to investing.

Stage 1) Get out of debt stage, pay off all debts, not including mortgage.

Stage 2) Wealth building stage, start investing at least 20% of your income into a 401k and Roth IRA.

Stage 3) Wealth Maintaining stage, you now have wealth and nearing retirement. Your portfolio needs to reflect proper investments to balance stock market swings.

If you want a guide to building wealth and retiring early, then here you go:

Pay off all debts, not including a mortgage.
Build emergency fund, at least 3 - 6 months of living expenses, in your account at a local credit union.
Contribute at least 10% of your income to an employer sponsored 401k, have it invested in an index fund like VOO.
Open up a Roth IRA with Vanguard, max contribute 6k to that Roth every year and have it invested in an index fund like VOO.
Live well below your means. This means, if you can devote 30% of your income to investments, then do it. If you can do 40% then do 40%.
After you have paid your living expenses every-month, Invest any extra into a Vanguard taxable account that has VIG, VYM, and VNQ ETFs. More focus to VYM and VNQ.
If you leave an employer, don't leave your 401k money with that employer program, Roll it over into a Roll-Over IRA with Vanguard, again VOO.

This is just a basic guide, and some people don't like step 6, which is fine, you don't have to do step 6. I created step 6 to introduce people to the idea of building a passive income. Feel free to alter this guide to suit your needs. As you age, I expect your investment strategy to change as you build on your knowledge and experience.
