No-fault divorce. Even if she's hitting you, even if she's the one cheating on you, even if she's the one initiating the divorce after spending all of the money you earned working 60 hours a week while she just sat on her ass, even if she's taking drugs in front of your children, even if she beats up your children, all of those things will not reflect on her during the divorce, which can be initiated at any time whatsoever for any reason.

Duluth Model. The man is always the one suspected first, since they have the capacity to do more damage, by mere virtue of being men and therefore generally more muscular. So if the police is ever called, for any reason, the man will be the one arrested. Even if she's completely unharmed and he has numerous deep knife wounds. Even if he's the one who called the police. At any point whatsoever, the woman can have the man arrested with false accusations, then get a restraining order, and it will reflect badly on him during the divorce proceedings, even if everyone is aware that he's innocent.

Sexist custody laws. It is only ever in a very minority of cases that the man will get custody of the children, even if she is physically and emotionally abusive towards them, or if she is severely addicted to drugs. It generally takes multiple years of expensive legal battles, and at a gargantuan amount of evidence of the woman being unfit for parenting, for a man to ever win custody from a woman who isn't willing to let go.

Alimony and child support laws. If the man earns more than the woman, then this will be held against him during the divorce. Because it has to be "fair", the Law will try its hardest to make sure that they both have a "similar" degree of lifestyle post-divorce. And the amount he needs to give his ex is calculated based upon his years of highest earnings, regardless of whether earning that much again will ever be possible, and regardless of whether giving as much money as the court demands will bring him far below the level of poverty or make him homeless and jobless. If he is unable to pay child support and alimony, he goes to jail. If the opposite is true, and the woman is the one who needs to pay child support, the courts will never impose any restrictions against the woman. The entire process is incredibly sexist in how penalties are applied. It's not rare for men to have to pay over 80% of their earnings to their exes who never worked in their lives, and who then end up committing suicide as a result of this.

Modern marriage in the West provides nothing to men, while it is very likely to lead to disastrous consequences. You are essentially placing yourself under a slavery contract, where you can be disposed of at any time whatsoever, for any little whim. There is a reason why the rate of divorce is around 60% within the first 10 years, and why women completely stop making any efforts after they seal the deal with a marriage contract. (r/deadbedrooms and r/femaledatingstrategy should be illuminating to you, if you've never visited them.)

Never do it, if you have any sense in you. I could have gone into much more details of psychology or history about why it turned out this way, but that's besides the point right now, when my goal was just to give you a brief overview of the situation of men in the West. Hopefully I helped to answer your question a bit.
