Being smart is too depressing. Most people would rather stay happy idiots of their own volition. Especially women. They hate intellectuals. They’re too “exhausting” to listen to so I’ve been told. At least with guys they have an opinion on most things let alone bother to actually listen and join in a discussion about said topics. Women just stand their scrolling through Fuckheadbook obsessing about themselves or somehow make the conversation about them.

Before the proliferation of social media, there was a brief time when people talked about different things on some of the forums I was on 15 years ago. All gone now. Replaced with the garbage of twitter, Instagram, and FB; filters, moronic posts, and the lot. People used to spend time reading a post, and responding. There was a time before all of this, but it is gone.

Pretty much. It’s grown a little worse because social media is a cycle that feeds everyone’s short attention span. But it wasn’t too much different before. It’s not like you could read a philosophy book or a dystopian story and discuss what it means with the average person.

Remember, philosophy was always the luxury of an intelligent mind that was not consumed with the task of survival.

It’s in the best interest of some people to keep us too preoccupied with foolishness. People hate an independent critical mind. And that’s why MGTOW is dangerous. If MGTOW was just a group of men using game on women to get what they want... no one would care. But because we can think critically and don’t want anything from them and can’t be bargained with... were dangerous.

I believe worldwide IQ is dropping... we no longer need to think. The answer is an internet search away... we don't have to reason through a problem to figure it out, get it right or wrong, and try again. The ability to reason through things hampers intelligence. My brother once complained about math classes being irrelevant in life. I told him it's not about that, it's about learning to reason through and problem solve.

To each his own. You can rarely find a person out in the wild with profound depth either to his/her personality or character as that takes some experience, awakening, spirituality, critical eye/mind to achieve and develop. We are living within an empty, hollow husk of society right now. It's just based around maximizing instant gratification out of this life (which I believe is not the only one we experience on our path) towards feeding our animal urges and impulses - basically no different from animals. Hence as you can see all the stuff happening in your close proximity and people being driven by the most basic ways of "thought" if there is any in their ways. It's not like that also happens on its own. It takes a strive to break through the mass media/brainwashing curtain we are surrounded by on a daily basis. Also seeing the true reality can be a burden... overcoming or internalizing the way things really work/are is difficult for many. They rather stay ignorant and preoccupied with pointless things.

The Old Days before social media weren't that much better. The number of people interested in philosophy, literature, etc. was still relatively small, it just took longer to figure out who they were without the current broadcasting abilities to demonstrate the apathy.

I'm totally with you. People nowadays doesn't have almost anything to add. Most of them are basically the same just following the crowd, so you'll get used to it at some point. The ones who aren't following straight the line are pretty much rare to find out. Thanks god we have subs like this one and some others intersting ones where we can share the same way of thinking.
