Laptop recommendations?

AMD is currently ahead of intel in the laptop market with its most recent ryzen chips. A lot of laptops are built like shit though, and will fall apart faster than you would like. Macbooks and Thinkpads tend to hold up over time a lot better than the rest. Given that, I would suggest one of the AMD thinkpads. They have a touchscreen option.

Plus, nobody is ever going to look at you strange in a meeting for bringing in a Thinkpad. If you haul in some LED-clad gamer abomination it will look unprofessional.

If you go for Photoshop, the more memory, the better. Photoshop is a drain on memory.

Why do you need a touch screen though? Seems like a useless feature to have on a laptop. And you might actually break the screen because most laptop screens aren't made of hard material. Only tablet have a hard screen.

What do you want to do with Photoshop? If it is for drawing, I would suggest to get a pen and drawing tablet.

Then most of the specs don't matter to you. You know you want a touchscreen. Someone else already mentioned memory, so get 16-32GB. The GPU can help on the processing in Photoshop, so a NVIDIA graphics card. At least an i7 CPU, again for Photoshop. The rest is like, what color do you want?

iPad Pro 12.9 might be for you. Decent price for what’s in it and it’s able to run photoshop and edit 4K videos. Portable/lightweight, pretty powerful, touchscreen, and all that. Or you could go with the newer dell options like the XPS. Both are very good options. Good luck

Don't go for touch screen, it is hardly used. You can have better features without it. Filter your search based on what is available in the market among AMD 3600X (6 cores), 3800X (8 cores), 3900X (12 cores) and 3950X (16 cores). Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU is recommended. 16GB RAM based on budget. HDD or SSD based on budget.

If you want to reduce your cost, don't prioritise SSD. Photoshop doesn't require lot of reading from the storage so SSD won't benefit you except for faster bootup.

Get the highest spec’d computer you can afford at the time of purchase. This means the fastest processor, most ram and highest speed, best graphics card and fastest also. Fastest hard drive/s as well. Profit for awhile.

Remember most laptops nowadays have soldered ram. So that can't be expended. You have to choose when you order. Same is for the nvme storage. Get warranty for 3 years. After that sell the laptop for some cash and get a new one. Laptops don't live much longer then 3 years. Either the components get exponentially bad or the operating system updates slow the system down so much it becomes unbearable. Laptops I would consider. Lenovo IdeaPad or Thinkpad T or X series, Dell XPS 13 or 15, HP x360. I would not consider a Microsoft or Apple laptop because of the outrageous pricing for a base model and options. Apple has the problem their ecosystem does not really match your forex software requirements. If you live in the USA, look for bargains on eBay professional sellers, best buy, etc. The holidays are great for discounts on the website of the manufacturer.
