It was, just barely. All houses are 6 figures these days as you cannot buy one for under 100k. My home was paid for but needed a lot of work and there will be fines for upgrades that were done without proper permits. Got out of my marriage practically scot free. It can be done. As a mid 50’s aged man whom has lifted mostly regularly my entire life and have been much bigger / stronger than I am now, I have some observations to include here. I’m just surmising that if one is able to successfully run a survival operation in rural area you will eventually have to deal with others that have not. Also a fan of intermittent fasting. Have lifted most my life but now that I’m in my mid 50’s I’m enjoying the heck outta dips, pull-ups, and pushups etc. still use heavy dumbbells for curling, overhead pressing and whatever else can do with em. Me too. Smoked lightly off and on until 40. Used vape to taper off successfully for about a year. Have always did cardio and lifted at home or commercial gym. Martial arts too. That’s a great hobby with real benefits. Now in my mid 50’s, great shape. Moved to TN mountains from crappy congested big city and we go hiking & camping often. Like pushups, pull-ups, bodyweight squats etc. when you feel the itch to smoke, just do a set of whatever. You’ll feel better and get stronger. Buy a decently heavy dumbbell too for curls & overhead press combos. A year later you’ll thank yourself. I was a gym member for many years lifting moderately heavy. When I switched to daily I made way better improvements.

Also, when I was younger and renting apartments there was always some drama about the neighbors along with noise and banging. No amount of complaining fixed any of that. Didn’t matter where or what apartments. No peace and quiet. Doors slamming in hallways. Dogs barking. People above fighting or kids stomping. Never again. No. Cardio is helpful of course, but my first recommendation would be intermittent fasting. 2nd recommendation would be strength training with little rest between sets which also qualifies as cardio. Yes. Checked out of a central Florida HOA neighborhood and moved to the mountains of E Tennessee. Found a small house way out in the country for 69k. 20 minute drive to town. 40 min drive to work. Encircled by mountains off in the distance and the ride daily is like a reset to my mind. Peaceful, enjoyable. Light traffic on highway where everyone is doing 75~80 mph instead of 40 in a 55. Definitely do not go see a so called therapist. Talk is what women do. You need action not talk. Get to lifting. Get strong & healthy. Eat real meat & veggies. Join a kwoon or dojo and train. Get a hobby. Join an outdoors hiking & camping group and go. Learn to use hand tools and actually make stuff out of wood and or metal. A motorcycle is what finally set me free from a 13 year disastrous marriage. Got lucky with only 5 years of minor child support, no alimony. Went on rides with only fellow brothers and tasted freedom. Paid for it every time I got back home. One time took off and didn’t come home all weekend and gained permanent freedom. 🤣

There are plenty worlds to conquer. Some examples: working towards cracking 300 lbs off the floor. Overheard pressing with 1 arm 90 Lb dumbbell. As a man in early 50’s who’s done gym most of life I will say that hard brief workouts are better unless bodybuilding is your hobby. One can get a brutal workout in 30 minutes or less. Weighted dips, weighted chins & pullups, handstand push-ups, 1 leg squats etc. a set to failure daily or multiple sets. Done.

YouTube is your friend for sharpening knowledge. I personally have some decent brand kitchen knives and I use a simple cheap V grooved sharpener on them only occasionally. 20 strokes and it’s cutting paper easily.

I like and agree with selfism’s response. If you are well into adulthood and have your diet and exercise, strength & health dialed in, along with your job and finances, you will not be so enamored of chasing women or even needing them so much. You will have a life so to speak with either hobbies or activities that are important to you. A good woman can and will compliment all or some of this without being any drain on any area of your life and time. A not good woman however, is the opposite.
