As a guy who got married and divorced young I learned quickly about the unequal division off child custody and assets in the family court. It was a rough and expensive lesson. Decided early i am not a fan of marriage but did enjoy being in a relationship. The problem however is after having a great relationship full of fun, travel and chemistry women would always pressure for marriage despite my being upfront about how I feel about the idea from the beginning. In my 30s I managed a nice life, retirement savings and paid off my mortgage(now even more of a reason. To not get married). At this point there has been a dozen women who gave me the marry me or else ultimatum. I watched every one of them get married with in 6 months of our breakup to the first guy they could find willing to do it. And, every one of them was divorced within 18 months and trying to contact me. "I'm really miss what we had" and "ours was the best relationship I've ever been in" I would hear. To them the ring and title was more important than the quality of the relationship. I never gave any a 2nd chance. But I still often get unwanted birthday cards and Christmas cards in the mail from a few of them. It is disrespectful and inappropriate . I wish they weren't so pathetic and would just stop. Thanks for listening to my rant..
