I made up a list of some categories where men are being discriminated and underrepresented due to laws, few implications and stigmatisation. The most shocking thing is that the discrimination is clearly seen and acknowledged but society and governments bring up the "historical discrimination for women" as the reason why men are more underrepresented than women. The audacity!

  1. Rape laws and biased statistics:

I don't believe there is any country on Earth that doesn't jail men for rape or sexual assault, but are there any who don't jail women? Well, there are friends.

First up it's Pakistan, where under the Pakistan Penal Code, the definition only makes men be the perpetrator. Women cannot legally be jailed for it, except if it's a abetting rape, that's it.

Up next it's India. Under the Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code, rape is defined as a crime committed by men against a woman. The game is like in Pakistan, women only be able to face jail if the person was underaged.

Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. These ones are the big ones, since they are usually the countries that Feminism argues the most about. However, there women simply cannot be jailed or prosecuted for rape. This is because of traditional historic thinking that men were the ones who done it and women cannot rape a man.

Till 2013, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defined rape as the penetration with a penis. Same was with Central Diseases Control (CDC) which in 2014 it made a report showing that men were only 1.7% of the total rape victims, but these were only those who were penetrated, not the ones who were sexually assaulted against their will.

Jolly United Kingdom is another example of biased rape definition. The law in the UK specifically says that rape is committed with the penetration of a penis. Fortunately at least it prosecutes women for such act, although it will classify them to "Other Sexual Harassment" which is like where Catcalling is, and it's only punished with 2 years in prison.

  1. Underrepresentation and Lack of Rights

In the laws of the United States do not have any protection or reproductive rights for men. No state in the US recognises or provides full paper abortion, adoption consent or forced fatherhood protection to men, while women do have this and they have full abortion rights in 20 states plus Washington D.C, but all 50 states do provide abortion only under certain criteria.

There is something called Women Only parking lots, and are extremely popular and kept being made in countries like Germany, South Korea, UAE, China and more. The logic behind these dedicated spots is that they are placed in places where it's closer to exits, controlled by CCTV and are better illuminated. Basically for protection for women while reaching their car. Men do not have their own spots and if we talk about security, men are 80% of the murder victims and usually the most victims to hijack or car theft.

Forces Fatherhood has no specific law that makes it illegal in any country. In the US it is said that 10% of the male population claimed that they were victims of forced fatherhood. Women who commit sperm theft or parental fraud are not prosecuted, and the only right the man have in such cases is making the financial support lower. So women can commit fraud and even when caught they do not face any charges. Most men don't care that when proven not to be the father or that his consent wasn't given, to pay less, most men care that the perpetrator will face the legal consequences of fraud.

Shelters for men are barely existent. In the early 2000s, Canada had it's very first male shelter made by MRM member Earl Silverman, while women already had hundreds. 1 in 3 men are victims of domestic violence with female perpetrator, yet in the US there are over 1.500 women shelters, while men have fewer than 10 which some of them are also gender neutral and not fully dedicated to men. UK has 3.000 for women and 20-30 for men. And globally it is estimated that there are tens of thousands of shelters for women and only around a hundred for men. This disparity it usually caused by the cancerous Duluth Model that focuses only on men as perpetrators.

Up next is in education. I heard a lot about the excuse of favouring women and giving more benefits to them, as a "way" to "help" the education gap. Well the education gap now shows men going backwards. A huge part in this are the scholarship. In the US, universities are having special Women Scholarships, which only provide to women when they enrolled in the campus. Men do not have it and it's totally against Title IX which clearly prohibits benefits given by gender. However men do have their own scholarships too, but these are not given by the collage, but individual groups for men such as the American Assembly of Male Nursing or Fraternity and Alumni. Out of approximately 4.000 universities in the United States, only under 5% provide this, the rest providing fully female scholarships.

Healthcare. Most awareness and studies made are done for female cancers and mental health. World Health Organization stated that Breast Cancer is the most announced form of cancer from the world. What about the male ones? Prostate or testicular cancer are down the bottom, yet the mortality and survival rate for prostate cancer is more severe, not by much than Breast Cancer but still. Breast cancer has a survival rate of 99% when localized and 95% after diagnoses, while for prostate cancer there is 97% when localized and 82% after diagnoses. In cases of mental health, MRM is well informed that men do not have the same awareness given like at women. This is the reason of why most men commit suicide. Worldwide, most implications are made about the depression and self harm cases on women, ignoring the male one. In the documentary called "Social Dilemma" the stats showing self harm and suicides cause by the media were only represented by teenage girls, while men were once again not even specified. I am not saying that we need to prioritise male health now, but society shouldn't ignore it only cause the culture made men look like Superman physically and mentally.

  1. Governmental organizations and celebrations

MRM is set to be officially founded in the 70s as a response to the Vietnam War draft which was seen unfair for men, then it largely became an organisation for all problems that men face in society. However, MRM and almost all of men rights organisations are not governmental and this makes them be hugely underrepresented. Women governmental organisation exist in thousands of movements and events. They have their own branch in the United Nations, UNFPA and CEDAW as worldwide. Independently by country, there is the Ministry of Women and Child Development in India, Office of Violence Against Women in the US and a lot of gender neutral organisations that now prioritise women, such as Equality and Human Rights Commissions in the UK. Estimated number of these organisations are over a thousand. For men however, there are no UN branches dedicated to them like UN Women. Most of the awareness come indirectly from gender neutral organisations. In the men's case, organisations creates worldwide for them privately are only a dozen.

About celebrations, there is no official celebration for men recognised by the UN. International Men's Day, Movember, Father's Day, International Day For the Elimination of Violence Against Men are not recognised by the UN so they are not put as a worldwide celebration, while women do have International Women's Day, Mother's Day, International Day For the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Women's Equality Day, International Day of Girl Child and heck even World Breastfeeding Week. Not having a recognised celebration, the whole fighting is extremely hard for men to get the same cheering and awareness like women do worldwide.
