Before I write anything I need to say that I consider most gay men as no different from straight men when it comes to men's rights issues. Perhaps gay men may face different challenges.

My country was a British military base so we are used to mixing with lots of British people. Once, I got speaking to an elderly British gay man who told me that when he was a young boy his father was a high ranking officer stationed in my country. So, when he was 12 he spent his Summer holidays in my country.

His father was often busy so this 12 year old boy was assigned a male nanny. Basically, his father chose a young 19 year old soldier and told him to look after his son on some occasions.

This now old man told me that he knew that he was gay since he was a young boy. So, back then he decided that he liked the soldier who was meant to look after him by taking him swimming and that sort of thing.

I asked him whether he did anything about it. "Oh yes!" He told me "I told him to show me his willie" When the poor soldier refused, the boy told him, "If you don't, I will tell my father that you did."

I have to say that I was shocked by the almost evil cunning of a boy that age who managed to put an adult between a rock and a hard place. I was even more shocked by the jovial and proud attitude of this now old man.

If what this man told me is true, it goes on to show that adult men have always been at the mercy of made up charges.
