The NYT has a front-page article about suicide and lies by omission; only by a very careful examination of its charts, could one learn that male suicide exceeds female by a factor of 3 or more.
Later edit: I erred, as Secv points out. The article does mention the 3-to-1 ratio once, in the last paragraph. The NYT lied by burying the stat, not by outright omission. (Many of its other suicide articles do omit the stat entirely.)
