It appears to me that the provincial law of Mexico may be sexist. For example from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America#%22Estupro%22 the language is gender-neutral for Federal law:

Al que tenga cópula con persona mayor de doce años y menor de dieciocho, obteniendo su consentimiento por medio de engaño

"Whoever copulates with a person over twelve and under eighteen years old, obtaining his/her consent through deceit"

But the local law in Campeche on the other hand:

Al que tenga cópula con mujer mayor de doce años pero menor de dieciocho, obteniendo su consentimiento por medio de la seducción o el engaño

"Whoever copulates with a female over twelve and under eighteen years old, obtaining her consent through seduction or deceit"

In this modification to federal law, while "deceit" makes sex illegal for both genders, however you define "seduction" (what exactly is non-seductive sex?) the process makes it illegal only for females 12-18 but not for males 12-18.

Why is it legal to seduce teen boys 12-18 and illegal to seduce girls 12-18 in Campeche? Isn't this something the United States should push Mexico to reform?
