If someone makes a vindictive but ambiguous remark, they cannot reasonably expect that remark to interpreted in the best possible light.

When I first clicked the orangered, I assumed "SHIVERS" was a reply to the quote from the Mark Lepin blog (which would have made sense). When I saw it wasn't, my next thought (born from my own personal experience) was that "SHIVERS" related to law school generally. The more I thought about it however, the more it seemed obvious that it was some sort of dig against me becoming a lawyer (this wouldn't be the first time I've gotten that kind of comment on r/mensrights). I considered a number of possibilities for why that might be in this case: he/she might think that lawyers in general are bad, or that women lawyers, feminist lawyers, or transgender lawyers are bad, or perhaps that I personally (for some other reason) would be a bad lawyer. Given the content of the article, and the fact that schopenbecq was the OP, I chose to respond as I did - it was the response that made the most sense in context, and it was also the snappiest.

Let me emphasize that I wasn't trying to normalize male-on-female violence. I was trying to help schopenbecq realize how attitudes against educating women can lead crazy people to become murderers. Nothing normal about it.

I don't consider my reply biased, because my logic behind responding to schopenbecq's comment as I did was reasoned - and not dependent on a reflex assumption that he/she is a man.

EDIT: Sorry about the long response, but I get defensive when people accuse me of being biased, especially Yoda.

and btw - I believe the expression is "one fell swoop."
