To be completely fair to the idiot, she said "killed" not "shot by the police". Normally you'd also want to add soldiers that died in the line of duty, you could also argue for people like firefighters and police officers and definitely convicts that received the death penalty.

I daresay the gap is wider.

In 2018, 992 people were shot and killed by police. There’s nearly 330 million people in the U.S. Of those 992, 47 were unarmed. 11 of the unarmed individuals had known mental illness. 52 of the total of people killed, were women. It’s unfortunate that when people see a cop, they see a statistic that they fear, even when it’s literally more likely that you’ll be struck by lightning, than shot by a cop while unarmed.
