I'm all for calling out people who are saying things that offend you, but with the intent to discuss it and work out if the person is really being offensive or if you're just overreacting. But this seems like the intent is to hone the skill of shaming men about being sexist, regardless of them actually being sexist or not, in order to mold them into self-conscious pups that tip-toe around women.

I wonder what would happen if the roles were reversed, with men accusing women of sexism? It would probably just spur even more sexism, indignation, and likely the initial motivation to destroy you.

My reply to their idiot nurse question: "I'm just thinking about a nurse who dated an engineering buddy of mine. She was fired, and my friend had some interesting things to say about it."

"What did he say?"

“I noticed that you said ‘he’ when referring to the engineer. Are you assuming the engineer is male? That’s kind of sexist, don’t you think?”

Women should be very careful opening that door - the one of making accusations with the intent of changing men rather than stopping sexism.

Some doors swing both ways.

This is nothing more than putting men in their place regardless of what is said. In half of the encounters the men were shamed for something they didn't even say.

Yep. I am to the point where I only really talk to women in the workplace if I have to (business related questions, etc). I don't really see them as fair ground for talking at the water cooler or anything. I don't shit where I eat (date at work) anyway, so what's the point of risking this?
