My Ex-wife took my son from the US to Australia 2 years ago under deceit and lies.

Then she filed for divorce

I have only been able to see my son once a year, then agonize over the next 11 months.

I have been forced to miss 4 of his past 5 birthdays – he is 7 now. Not that I don't want to be there, but this is not a trip from NYC to Florida. This is literally across the globe that takes almost 2 days to get there and 2 days back. And there is a job to keep so I save my vacation days to be there during the Xmas holidays.

The Hague Convention is useless and is lopsided. Only caters to women.

She comes from a wealthy Chinese family that can afford to hire a battery of lawyers to play the legal game. And the family has multi-million dollar real estate developments in Sydney and she plays the poor ex-wife to extort child support. Again, for a son that the father did not abandon but was taken from him.

The system is so one sided when the mother commits such heinous crime in separating a child from a father and there is nothing I can do about it

And these are the precious years I will never get back no matter the price. The years of a child that wants to sit on your lap while you read to them or tell them a story, wants to play fighting aliens and defending the fort, wants to sleep next to you, or simply just holding your hands walking.... is limited and only a few years away where they are too old to want to do so.

I understand that there are deadbeat dads out there that the system needs to step in to protect the mother and children. But where is the fairness in the system when the father is at a disadvantage to fight such criminal acts done to them.
