Actually, the whole Diallo thing sent the message that you will be taken at your word, at least until it becomes apparent that you lie like a politician.

her examples are not all invalid.

there is no excuse for the Texas girl, for instance, to have been treated as she was.

there's no excuse for a cop to rape a woman, especially if she was calling for help.

where it fails is in decrying "rape culture." if the world is a "rape culture" because some people get away with rape (though others - among them correctly, incorrectly, and fraudulently accused are convicted) then it's also a "theft" culture because not every thief is sentenced, a "lie" culture because not every liar is sentenced, and a "drug" culture because not every drug user is sentenced.
