Nitpick: this isn't completely right. The whole premise of the show is just a guy who got taken advantage of by a supremacist country, fed up with it all and decides revenge is the best course of action. While the abusers were predominantly women, the show highlights both male and female abusers.

Obviously, the fact the focus is on just the women/misogyny shows the comparison made isn't right. Keyaru is an anti-hero who gives absolutely zero shits about anyone in his way and depending on what they did, will enact the most degenerate punishments onto them. People have to look past the sex scenes taking most of the screen time (which are meant to appeal to the crowd): he slaughters hundreds of men in his journey in a quarter of the screen time he spends defiling a few supremacist, corrupt women. He even has a clear soft spot for women, treating several of them far better at the cost of fulfilling his carnal desires.

If you want to compare, check Rising of the Shield Hero, which in its starting arc has a similar premise (daddy's little girl getting what she wants, corrupt state, etc.), but the protagonist doesn't resort to full-on revenge. Several subs shit on Naofumi as well for giving "incel" vibes over a few minor lines to foreshadow what's about to happen, completely blind to the purpose of this narrative device. Similarly, Naofumi doesn't discriminate between men and women, aside from that first intro part and one particular antagonist, but critics will still go out of their way to highlight the "misogyny" over the obvious theme of misandry. Heck, part of the backstory is the country being matriarchal just to show women can be just as abusive as men when corrupt figures are put in a position of power, and this attribute has very little significance to the story otherwise.

Both the US and the west in general tend to shit on anime a lot either way, since anime prefers highlighting clear sexual differences and clearly markets with a romantic and/or sexual interest (be it self-insertion or just fan service). Interestingly enough, if you check cartoons and sitcoms of the last 30 years, most of them had what critics would call "misogyny", despite flying under the radar.

On this one I get where there coming from and honestly no one in the anime is great. its a really good hentai but a terrible anime. Actually if you watched the show the majority of men were also rapist.
so the what if genders were reversed doesn't exactly apply here.
The concept of it is honestly super off putting. Like again the entire anime is simply about rape.
And before you say but that's the point, thats the issue the only point to the show is simply rape. I had the same problem with sao they keep using rape as a plot driven point.
Rape should really only be in a show if its meaningful and done correctly. Or if the point is getting over the traumatic event that happened to you. Also I spit on your graves doesn't exactly have a super high score either. also some of the reviews I'm reading its mainly the women that have issues with this film.
Tbh I barely even knew it was a thing until someone told me about it

i have seen all of redo of the healer. overall its a great anime that does what it intends too. revenge hentai is just a genre at the end of the day. obviously *some* of what he does is questionable, but for the most part he only harms those who deserve it. theres this one character which would drug and rape women. he finds her, beats her up, tortures her, and leaves her too die. i personally believe the girl deserved death, but not necessarily torture. the anime is just a revenge plot at the end of the day, why would you expect anything more? if you find that stuff sickening dont watch it.

I’m fine with revenge fantasies for rape, my main problem with them is that the character who are raped are usually over sexualized. Hence I spit on your grave is sexist toward women. As long as the male protagonist isn’t sexualized himself I see no reason this is sexist
