There's something I don't quite understand about abortion/parental rights.

If a woman wants to have a child that has already been conceived then she simply doesn't get an abortion. Ideally the man will then have two choices. He can either financially abort (this isn't possible yet, but hopefully it will be someday) or he can not financially abort and decide to be in the child's life.

If a woman doesn't want to have a child that's already been conceived then she simply has an abortion. However then the man has absolutely no choice.

How is there equality between the sexes when a woman has the ultimate decision as to whether or not the child will even live?

Assuming men ever get the right to financially abort, what about the other way around? Should we not have the choice to keep the child we helped conceive when she doesn't want it?

What's to be done in these cases? Surely we can't force the woman to have the child...?
