I was on Twitter when I came across a post where someone was saying that they need to keep a heterosexual ship away from “chiset” men.

Their argument was that the heterosexual ship needed to be gate kept from chiset men because they where using it to invalidate other peoples homosexual ships. (I have yet to see this in action)

Right away I knew something was wrong. Women can be homophobic to!? By this person’s logic, shouldn’t it be gate kept from chiset women as well? Why are we only accusing men of being homophobic when it’s entirely possible for a woman to be homophobic?

When I asked them why they would write something like that, they said it was a joke. (Which contradicts the post being marked “/srs” or “/serious”). They went on saying that they make fun of chiset men because it’s how the lgtbq+ community / minorities cope and that chiset men don’t go through any pain in their life so they are not allowed to make jokes about the lgtbq+ community or other minority groups. Basically they said that because they belong in a minority group, it gave them a free pass to mock chiset males.

I tried explaining that no one should be mocking anyone and that pain and suffering isn’t limited to race/sexuality/ and or gender. I even brought up the statistics of how men are more likely to commit scuicide and that these jokes could be the very thing to push someone over the edge.

They then told me that chiset men are “our” oppressors (referring to me being a female, on the spectrum, and asexual) and that I should not be coddling them.

I did get them to realize some faults in their argument but it wasn’t perfect.

I thought that maybe I could use my status as a minority and other things to show the error of their ways. But they refuse to do the same things they say they are against…seeing the person before their sexuality, their race, and their gender.

I feel like both left and right sides are pulling at me telling me I’m wrong but all I want is for people to not be so dense, but humanity is selfish.

That doesn’t mean I’ll give up though! :) I just wanted to vent it out to you boys.
