I know of a stay-at-home dad. He is living the dream......met the wife in church. No talk of alimony here; he's super religious and hell-bent on staying married. Before that he had a non-profit hobby for 15 years based in his parents' house until they passed away. Hasn't worked a job in 20 years. So yeah, it's possible.

I would totally be down to keeping the house tidy, looking after the kids, dropping off / pickup from school and other things..
Sounds fantastic to me..
The real question though.. because I would "be giving up my chance at a career" as the women say.. would it be unfair if I were to receive alimony if we were to split up?
I'm sure many women would find it unfair to pay alimony to their divorced husbands.. but seem to find it fine when it's the other way around..

I’ve totally thought about this, women claim men are afraid of powerful women, but most men have strong attraction towards women like that, they just immediately get turned off when men aren’t ambitious or doesn’t make as much money as them, that’s why women are finding it hard to find a “good man”. I probably have more maternal instincts than most woman.

I guess my husband was a stay-at-home dad, or more accurately, a take-the kid-to-work dad (self-employed handyman.) If his clients didn't like it he was happy to drop them. His kids were the most important thing. So he really had the situation a lot of women deal with- working as much as he could while still providing the bulk of the child care (3 kids.) While I earned a lot more money his skills and love made the family better in every way. He even built our house himself, with my amateur assistance on weekends.

I'd love to have a life of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my children. Cooking and cleaning are things I already do (don't have kids), but on top of that I have to study hard right now to have a job I will slave away at for 40 years.

My mom is a stay at home mom, she gets to sleep and wake up whenever she wants, talks on the phone/watches tv most of the day, cooks, and complains about cleaning (nobody is asking her to be as crazy about cleaning as she is). Sounds a whole lot easier than working 60 hours every week like my dad.
